Yes, unless the service advisor I called at the Toyota dealership gave me the wrong info... I will probably have the radiator/water pump of my 2007 TCH pressure checked for any water leakage as I am very close to 36k miles...

I had my water pump/radiator tested under pressure for about 15 min. and was ok (no water leakage)... also, same dealership told me now, the water pump is covered under the Powertrain Coverage which is 5 years 60k miles.

I also know someone with a non-hybrid that had his water pump replaced a while back. I have not noticed any leaks yet and i have 25,000 on my car. The dealer has not mentioned it and it has been in for oil changes since it was new in '07. Hopefully i will not have an issue but i will keep an eye on it.

56K on my 07 TCH (bought in June 06) and both the engine and inverter coolant tanks are still right below the full marks when cold.

When I had my 55K service I asked the Service Writer if he was aware of any increase in Camry water pumps failing. He had not seen or heard about it. I've been using the same guy for all the TSBs and the Steering recall, so I think he would have said something if he knew.

My water pump went at about 70,000 miles on my 2007 Japan built TCH. I didn't notice the leak myself, a technician noticed when I took it in for an oil change. I have an extended warranty so the replacement was completely covered.

How about TWO replacements in 30,000 miles? My first water pump began leaking around 15,000 miles and was replaced under warranty. Last month, after hearing an increasingly loud belt squeak, I took it in to find I needed ANOTHER water pump. So each pump lasted 15,000 miles. I find this a bit odd. The dealer told me that replacing 2 water pumps in 30K miles is extremely unusual.

Anyway, I'm posting in case others have similar issues.

Well I fell victim to the water pump issue. Took my car in for service with 32.5K on the odometer and the SA came back and told me my water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced. It's funny because I noticed a little pool of water in the garage lately but thought it may be condensation from the A/C...I'm glad this happened under warranty.

Anyone have the TSB for the steering recall? Does it coverall 07 TCH or just a select few?

Thanks.

I had the water pump issue, also. Happened at 30,000 miles. It was covered under warranty.

I also had my water pump replaced on my '07. It was done under warranty about 1 & 1/2 years ago. My mileage was probably around 35 000km back then.

Question: are the TCHs that have the water pump issue made in the USA or Japan?
