Default 5 speed auto stop

I read in the Insight forum that if you put the manual 5 speed transmission into neutral at any speed the engine stops, so is a good way of achieving fuel efficiency.
Does this happen with HCH I ?

I guess that in this mode there is no regen braking available?

The engine stops on the Insight at speeds below 19mph when in neutral and your foot is on the brake.

no it doesn't happen at any speed with the HCH I. mine usually will go into autostop at about 10-12 miles per hour when slowing down, but i put it in neutral on hills, and it doesn't turn off.

Best fill 66.7 MPG, best tank 801.5 miles

that was it
put in neutral , touch the brake , but not enough to activate the brakes
It might bring in the first stage of regen?

If you happen to catch the engine-off neutral at the top of a hill, have fun! I've gotten to about 60 miles per hour with the engine off before I needed to stop at the bottom (keep the clutch engaged to keep the engine off above 20 miles per hour).

.

...because you'll see me passing everybody at 90 miles per hour going up mountains.
