Default catalizer

hello,

thanks for this beautiful forum

the lamp of engine come on , and after make test by engineer he said that
you have problem with catalizer ( you should replaced it )

but i can not do it because the price is very high so he suggest that i put

material ( Worth) in tank of oil to clean the catalizer

is it good or not?

second,
my car ( honda civic hybrid 2003) is go on 29.5 MPG only
is this due to catalizer?

my friend said that you can do not use catalizer ( throw it )
please help me
