Default transmission check up

Can a shop tell you the health of your transmission? I'm considering trading my hch for a new regular civic because I'm worried about a $6000 transmission replacement down the road. The only problem is that a new civic is going to end up being close to $20,000 and i think the most i could get for my hch is $15,000. I have 40,000 miles on my HCH now.

.

Geez, I'd say you definitely got your money's worth if you got 3,000,000 miles out of an HCH tranny!!

a new or rebuilt transmission may well cost less than you would lose by trading vehicles.

if you maintain your recomended service intervals and drive it softly as one would for mpg it could outlast your concerns.

Have you worried yet about how many tires you will need in 3 million miles?

I'm looking to get to 200,000 miles with the original tranny, not 3,000,000.
