I brought my certified used 04 HCH in to the Honda dealership today for some repairs (I'll update you on that when it's complete). Honda America told me the battery pack was changed on my car a month ago at 51,000 miles a month ago (I just bought it a few days ago). When I asked Honda America what the warranty on the battery was, they said 80,000 miles.

I asked the Honda dealership today if there was any other warranty on the battery since it was replaced. He said no. However, he thought the warranty on the IMA was extended. He looked up some information on the computer and printed out a bulletin for me about Honda Insights. He said he thought this applied to all of the hybrids. Does anyone feel like calling Honda America and asking about this? I'm about burned out with used car crap at this particular moment.

Warranty Extension: Insight IMA Battery Module

"Because of a class action settlement, the warranty extension coverage for the IMA battery module on 2002-2004 Insights purchased or leased between April 13, 2002 and Nov. 7 2006, is now 10 years or 157,500 miles, whichever occurs first. For more information, refer to Service Bulletin 06-085, Warranty Extension: Vehicle Warranty Mileage. "
"This warranty extension applies to the 43 states not already covered by Service Bulletin 06-027" Those other states are Arizona, California, Coorado, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, and Texas.

I'm in Illinois.

 

It says in the next paragraph that the warranty extension applies to certain 2000-2004 Insights.
