The Hybrid may not have the wiring connection for the junction box used. Understandable since it is a different engine. But there are some people on this forum that live in areas that the car may need to be heated prior to driving.. But then Honda also makes a block heater attachment.

I had one installed recently on the hybrid that was on my old Accord. It IS do-able. It WILL affect your FE. Remember, you will be burning fuel and going nowhere which equals 0 mpg. Use it sparingly.

The other day I saw an SUV in the parking lot with remote start. The temperature was in the high 60s! What a waste!

So nobody here has a remote starter? For that matter does anybody here warm up there car in the morning? What about to remove ice from all the windows, do you leave the car off and scrape everything off?

I think it's quite acceptable to run your car while you scrape ice and snow -- we're not cavemen!

I do admit that mpg goes way down within a few minutes of warm up (scraping ice).

My HCH2 now has a remote start. I haven't used it much yet, but from when I had it on my old car, can tell you it does help clear the ice from the windshield quicker on those frozen nights. As anyone knows who has warmed up their HCH, the mpg drops like a stone... Like I said above, use sparingly and the FE hit will be minimal.

Scrape ice? Pah!

Found a great toy from Eddie Bauer. Electric ice brush. I just sit inside and plug it in, warms the glass from the inside to the point the wipers can flick it off. Doesn't require the engine to be running.
