Re: $189 for a b1 service???
Honda is starting to follow the maintenance schedule of the luxury brand market. In a nut shell, it is better for the consumer. My Mercedes cost me $350.00 for Service A, which to me was awesome ( 12,000 mile oil change intervals).
My Acura MDX at the time, which didn't follow the new schedule, would cost me over $300.00 a year for service and maintenance.
As long as you are taking the car in at 6,000 mile intervals or every 6 months which I assume is Honda's way of utilizing a maintenance schedule, you should be fine. But you should pay either or less than what 3 oil changes will cost you normally. (example $30.00x3=$90.00 every six months).
For some, it may just be a normal oil and tire rotation. For others, it might mean software updates and other important warranty related things.
In MD the mechanic shop rate is $85.00 per hour. The number of hours is not calculated by the shop but by the book. This part is tightly regulated.
Another thing Honda needs to do with the Hybrid is take time to remove the plastic cover over the oil pan. Replace damaged clips, wash/vac car, test drive it, and numerous safety checks.
