Act your age, not your MPG
I was explaining to a friend of mine on how I was doing with the HCHII (via e-mail). I told him, that on my last 300 miles (1st tank of gas) that I was getting 51.7 mpg.
His responses was:
For some stupid reason, this pops into my head: “Act your age, not your MPG”. Would that now be good or bad for you? Let’s see, if you drove a big SUV, you might act like a teenager, (or younger). Now you get to act over 50. Yippee! I’m impressed. I hope to see it some day.
I pondered this for a minute and responded:
Let's see. My birthday is 4 months away. I am 51 and 8 months. Yep, that equals 51.7 rounded. Can't wait to get older now.
Boy I'm getting weird now. All that gas I'm saving must be going to my head.

Actually, I'm 36 and my FE is about 42. Is this going to hurt my gas mileage? Ha ha ha ha ha!

Except in the course of about two miles, you'll age maybe 40-45 years. While there's plenty of things about growing up I'd love to skip over, I'd really prefer keeping that one moment in fifth grade when I was looking at a girl, she was looking at me, and we came to the "not all girls are icky, and not all boys have cooties" realization at the same time
Someday I might even beat that wascally kenny!

Re: Act your age, not your MPG
I guess I need to retire.
Need fewer troops to support.
Drive a hybrid.
Best tank 71.65 MPG.
Before this car I spent two years learning hypermiling on my 2004 HCH1.

Old Hypermilers never die, they just pulse & glide away.
