Air Filter + Cabin Filter = IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND.

I really don't want to pay the dealer for this. Anyone know the correct numbers? (I don't want to pay for K&N, either).

Not sure about the cabin filter. But I replaced my air filter. No auto supply stores have it yet so I went to a dealer, bought it in parts and installed myself. $18. Old one was so dirty I couldnt believe it.

Im trying to get the part number for the air filter for my engine. I have an 06 HCH hybrid(obviously) and I wanted to try the K&N brand.

The only one i see is 33-2348 which is about the same size as the honda original. their website doesnt list our Hybrid...

anyone buy one before?

Here are the 3 cross-reference numbers for the 06-07 HCHII filters to purchase at http://www.fleetfilter.com :

Air Filter - 49157 ($11.44 ea)

The air filter isn't listed on the site. The WIX cross-reference guide (49157). It's $11.44 for the air filter (49157) and will take 1-2 weeks for them to get it. To order it, you'll have to put it into the order comments (product number and quantity) and they'll add it to your order

They sell WIX/NAPA brand filters, and if you search around, you will find out about their reputation. I haven't seen anything bad said about them or the filters they sell.

For 60,000 miles you will only need 6 oil filters. The change increment for the Civic is 10,000 miles not 7500.

I change the oil on the Civic at the 10K interval, and have a sample analyzed each time at Blackstone Labs. The oil has always tested good.

No sense in putting out more waste oil into the environment than necessary.

Gary, doesn't that oil-change interval vary based on the driving conditions? Mine was just over 9K when the sensor went to 0%.
At any rate, 6-8 oil filters max for 60K.

Well, two reasons why I put 8 oil filters and 7,500 mile changes:

1) As gumby said, Oil life % can differ from car to car depending on driving conditions/style. I know we could go 10K miles on the hybrid (especially with Mobil1 0W-20), but I will probably stick with 7500 miles. This way I can have a standard schedule which will run evenly into the 15K, 30K, etc services that need to be done. Even at 7500 miles, it's 2½ times farther than my previous car, saving me $$ on oil changes!

2) Buying 8 oil filters put it over $125.00 so you can get the 15% discount

I also like the fact that the oil filter for the HCH is the same model as my Honda Pilot, so I can buy more of one filter and not have to worry about not using them (or getting them confused on my garage shelf).

This is the correct filter. I will note that after putting it in mine, I did not notice any huge jump in overall FE. There was a perceived improvement in response when I had to stomp the gas, but I would be hard pressed to assign a numerical value to it.

Someday I might even beat that wascally kenny!

I applaud Honda for having a standard filter for their cars. Now if they would just design the filter canister to be reusable so all that needs to be changed is the filter element.

The europeans have been doing this for many years. I wonder why the asians don't adopt this. It is just one less thing that needs to be thrown away.

On the oil life, the meter on our car goes to zero at about 9600-9700 mile increments, so 10K is an easy point to do the change.

I do find it curious that the filter change is not in lock step with the oil change, especially since the filter holds about a pint of the old oil that does not get removed unless the filter is removed and drained. And if you are going to do that what is $4 for a fresh filter?
