Default Battery Indicator going down when parked

I bought my 2006 HCH with 64000 miles on it about a month ago and love the economy so far averaging 48 mpg through the first 1500 miles. Twice in the last week I went into a store once for about 10 mins and the other for about an hour when I came out my battery indicator read one bar. Does anyone have any ideas? A drain? Bad battery? Normal?

Jason, welcome to GreenHybrid !!!

Don't worry about that phenomenon... unless it happens frequently. The system will,once in a while cause that "depletion" and then attempt a charge to re-set the upper SoC limit.

As I said, if this begins to happen frequently (as in more than once a day or so) and you can clearly see that the SoC has trouble staying at or above 5 bars, then I would take it in to the dealer for a quick check-up.

Cheers;

SoC stands for State of Charge and is represented by the battery charge level display on the HCH-II.
