Default Does your AM sound muffled?

Treble is nonexistent when listening to an AM station as it compares to FM or XM - I will take this up with service - I was just curious if was just me or my car. Please chime in, thanks.

Hmm... I have mine on XM 99% of the time and FM the other 1%. Haven't tried AM yet.

My AM sounds really poor as well. 'muffled' is a pretty good way to describe it. Turning down the bass and turning up the treble helped a little, but then I have to readjust it when listening to FM or CD.

I agree. The AM sound quality is lousy!

Doesn't AM sound lousy on all radios?

Best tank 71.65 MPG.

Before this car I spent two years learning hypermiling on my 2004 HCH1.

I set the bass to +2, treble to +6, and fader to front speakers only when listening to AM. It is amazing that Honda could put such a lousy stereo system into such an advanced automobile!

Yeah, AM sucks on this sound system....far worse than my old car. I learned to get used to it when I listened to a lot of AM, but since I got Sirius in the car, I very very rarely listen to AM.

My AM reception, static wise, is great compared to my HCH-I, which was very "buzzy"

In follow-up, the Honda service tech just gave me a blank stare – then went on to say huh? I demonstrated the muffled AM issue and he said it’s operating to spec. Thanks for all the replies, it’s looking like it’s inherit with the nav radio.

For what it's worth, it also sounds cruddy with the non-NAVI radio as well.

.

Modifications:
- Added two-tone leather seats and moonroof.
- Added Calif. HOV stickers!
- Added Civic door sill plates (non-electrical - purchased from eBay - recommended).
- Added rear door beverage holders (genuine Honda part - recommended).
- Added Hella super horns (recommended).
