Question Door Handles on Honda Odyssey are cooler than on the HCH???

Okay, so I went to eat yesterday and when I was getting in my car, there was a shiny, brand new Honda Odyssey parked next to me. The first thing I noticed was the cool, space aged, aerodynamic door handles...ON A MINIVAN!!!

I didn't think to take a picture, but I just found this one:

Which are (IMHO) much cooler looking than the US HCHII's door handles:

Which are boring and the same as the ones on the regular 8th gen Civics.
Surely, this is worth a little tiny bit of Cd and about .001 MPG, right?

Okay, now I will remove my tongue from my cheek and ask if anyone has thought of swapping door handles on their HCH?

Has anyone else seen the new ones on the Odyssey? Has anyone else thought what the heck?

The swap would be more than a trivial project. Unless you are, or know a sheet metal customizing guru, I wouldn't attempt it. The door skin has to be modified significantly to fit the sharp pointed shape of the Odyssey handles. It would look really cool if it was done correctly.

That's too bad. I'm a little surprised they aren't putting them on the 2009 HCH, per the pics that were posted last week.

And noflash...This is my hobby!

I can't see that drag would be affected in any measurable way, but yes, they do look better. Good luck on the project, post some pics.

Well I'm quite happy with the HCH II door handles, and can't imagine any reason to change them.
