Default E10 in the HCHII??

Dear all,

I'm moving to Houston in a few weeks, and I read in the Houston Chronicle this morning that in the next few months, most gas stations will be offering E10 instead of 87. I wonder, can our HCHIIs run cleanly and efficiently on E10? I'm sceptical about alcohol fuels anyway and I don't want to do anything that will harm my car.

It will run E10, just fine. Any modern car will. You might see a slight hit in FE. Maybe 1-2MPG, if all other things are held equal.

Most gas stations here in MA have gasoline with 10% ethanol. I've been using it ever since I got my civic in early May.

My understanding is that all cars will run on E10 without a problem. It's E85 you have to watch out for.

If you check your owners manual there should be a specific reference to E10 fuels and their suitability for regular use in our HCII's.

correct me if im wrong, but in chicago most pumps say "may contain up to 10% ethanol" I guess its just added to the fuel. no big deal.
