Default Electric Power Steering (EPS)

Has anyone had any problems in this area? What does the check and replacement entail? Thanks and a very Happy Christmas.

Have you received a Honda service bulletin or a recall for your car? If so, do you have any additional details?

At the moment I am un-aware of a model specific recall for the EPS.

I haven't gotten anything but the edmunds site mentions one TSB on the power steering

http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/r...artner=edmunds

second one issued in May 2006.

Yes, but those would appear to apply only to north american production runs on the regular Civic line.

Our Civic Hybrids do not appear to be affected in part because these are units exclusively assembled in Japan and possibly not affected by the discrepancies reported by the NHTSA report. Besides, none of the discrepancies appear to reference the Civic Hybrid explicitly anyway.

The heading says 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid, but it seems to list the regular Civic, as they mention "Manual Transmission" on #4, which of course we don't have on the 2006 Hybrid's.
