Well, I just got back from the dealer. The original price for the "A 1" visit (rotation and oil change) had changed from 110 to 80 dollars quoted up front. The final bill was $65 (including a free carwash ). And yes they knew about 0 W 20. There is still confusion about the hybrid's minder. But the service guy was nice and told me a story about how someone came in with a HAH wanting an oil change after the first 3000 miles. He told him it is a new world and just pay attention to the maint. minder. That makes him honest in my book. the price was ok to me for a dealer.

They tried to tell me that my car needed to be serviced more often than it needed to be too, to which I replied, "so you think that you know better than what the manual says, which was written in conjunction with the manufacturing engineer's notes and blueprints" ???? Didn't have much of a reply to that....

I just had my first service completed and the dealer provided me a nice schedule that list the cost for each service, and when required. While I am sure the prices will go up, it ia a nice document to use to budget maintenance costs

The manual states for A1 maintenance service that only an oil change and tire rotation are required. No other "inspection" procedures are required until the B1 maintenance indicator which is your 2nd oil change. At that time, it explains that certain items need to be inspected or looked at, which you can usually do yourself.

Just got the A1 service at my local dealer, about 8500 miles on the ODO. They changed the oil with 0W20. Service invoice total was $39.99, but informed me my first service was free because I purchased the vehicle there, a nice surprise. They even washed my car. They said the next service (B1 I think) would run $55-$60. If they keep this up, I'll have to start servicing my car at the dealer, something I have never done in the past.

The next maintenance service will show up as B1 which is basically an oil change along with a bunch of "inspection" items. I just have them do the oil change and do the inspections myself.

I was able to get the A1 service for only $55. They originally quoted me $95 but I found some coupons online from competing dealerships and my dealer was forced to honor them (their policy). The oil change came in at a reasonable $37.

Just had my first service visit at about 8400 miles with 10% left on the oil life meter.

The dealer advertises first three oil changes are free, which I figured would not apply to the HCH 2. Well it did.

So the cost for my first service, which was inspection stuff, oil filter and drain plug, and tire maintenance was zero. Cool.
