Default Re: Has anyone purchased the Aero Kit for the HCH?

I purchased the lower spoilers/skirts for my HCHII. They cost about $2000 Canadian. The HCHII has the trunk lid spoiler whereas the aero kit includes a larger trunk spoiler. So I just bought the lower skirts and left the original trunk lid spoiler.

I've posted pictures in the Share Photos section.

Dude, consider getting some tint on that bad boy and you got a smokin' look. I love the dark tint on mine and the Magentic Pearl/Sparkle Gray makes the tint that much better (of course, only the back and rear windows will be legal).

How do they tint them and what does it cost? I wouldn't want one of those films that can get bubbly! I saw a white Civic today with dark tinted windows. But I think the dark tint would look better on my Sparkle Grey Pearl since it quite dark.

Hi Randy,

I notice that your Country is (Canada). So I am not sure what is "Legal" in Canada versus the U.S.A.

Here in most States we can do what is referred to as 35% Legal Tint. We can also go Darker on the Back Window, maybe like 50% Tint.

You can "Click" on my Picture's below, they have 35% Legal Tint all the way around:

Hope this helps you.

As far as where do you get it done ? Here the Dealer's have it done for us.

Thanks again Terry. I might have to look into this as I'm starting to think this would be a nice touch.

I would definately call your Honda delearship and use their recommended company. Tint will run you around $300 CDN to cover the back 5 pieces of glass (2 on each back door and back window). I had a buddy at work who has a Mistubishi Eclipse and got his car tinted. He had to get it redone 3 times as there were always bubbles on his back window. So definately pay for a better quality job (or you will get bubbles).
Also, it helps keep the car cooler in summer so you don't have to use as much AC and thus will improve your gas milesage.

Thanks Jason. I think I'll check with my dealer. Now I know the approximate price, that helps. I forgot about those little quarter windows. I was concerned about getting it done and having bubbles and such but I guess that's poor quality materials/workmanship so if the dealer does it or recommends someone I would hope they'd be reputable.

I read a bit about those black dot borders being a problem with tinting but notice they don't look like they'd be a problem with the HCHII. Do the defroster strips cause any issues?

Are there particular types/brands of tint that are better? I read there are metallic and ceramic. I also read about felt for the side windows to protect the tint. Is the necessary/desirable?

I haven't searched here for any threads on tinting. I guess I should do that and then check it out or post there.
