Honda Music Link for iPod? - GreenHybrid

Hello!

Has anyone had purchased and installed the Honda Music Link Adaptor (for iPod)? If so do you like it? Right now I'm just using the regular auxiliary mp3 jack (non Nav 2007 Civic). Is it true if you use the Music Link the iPod has to sit in the glove box? Are the steering controls decent enough to warrant the price (about $200 installed I'm told). Thanks for any help!

You mean you can still buy it? It has been discontinued for at least 2 months because it was a piece of s**t. Check out this thread from a dealer on 8thcivic: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36596

Best bet, just use the 1/8" jack (if you have an 06/07 Hybrid) and control the ipod from the ipod itself.

Thanks for the response AJR! I appreciate the link too. I did some additional reading and wow, am I glad I decided NOT to have this thing put in. Nice that the dealership never told me it was dc'd either. I even found the official word from Honda:

I'll be doing exactly as you suggest and just using the existing input, and grab a USB car charger.
