How far can you usually go on a tank of gas?
Hi,
I am wondering the mileage you can get on a tank of gas in your HCH II. There are some threads about the best mileage/tank. I am interested in an average mileage - day to day driving without obsession with FE.
Thanks.

I go 500 or so miles on an average tank. Or maybe just a little more...

I only had the car since the end of June, I am getting around 900-950KM per tank. I noticed that once the low fuel light comes on, I can get around another 150-200KM on the car.

We seem to get about 450-550 between fillups.

My best tank so far has been 690. We (the kids and I) practice hypermiling. Our third tank will probablly will be beginning of next week. Even at 690 miles we still had 2 bars left. When filling up I ALWAYS top-off to get the most accurate numbers.

600 miles is my target, usually with zero bars. It's nice to know I could probably go another 100.

I got a whole 594 miles last tank @ 56.7 mpg. I am shooting for 650 miles!! But this week wind and rain from Hurricane Gustav has most definately ruined that thought! Wish me luck.

You will probably get between 500-600 miles before the last gas pip goes out.
I pushed it and got over 700 miles once - some have gotten over 1000 miles by overfilling or stuffing the tank and hypermiling at 70mpg+ for the tank.

Re: How far can you usually go on a tank of gas?
Most of my tanks are somewhere just above 600 miles. In fact my last 9 tanks have all been above 600 miles. I have done over 700 once and my current tank will probably end up over 700.

Re: How far can you usually go on a tank of gas?
My lifetime average is around 600. Best tank was 695. Average of 650 is easy in Summer. Winter brings it closer to 600.
