Of course they told you that.
They gave you the corporate liability lawyer answer. The real-world-where- we-all-live answer is that it is no problem. The SRS will not deactivate. You will not get a fault if you do not turn on the car. Think about it: How could the car "know" that you had disconnected the front seat sensor if it is not "awake"?
A fault code will only show that the sensor had been disconnected.
I have removed the seats from many cars with SRS airbags, and it is not a problem.
Still, it's up to you.
