Default Music Link 2.0 is out!

Attention people who would like to control their iPods through the stereo headunit. Honda has just released version 2.0 of MusicLink. It is a complete replacement from MusicLink 1.0 and is not backward compatible. Pricing information is not available online but dealers should now be able to order it for you.

Thank you,

** Side note MusicLink 2.0 is not compatible with Apple's iPhone

I'm not sure 2.0 is far enough away from the suckiness and overpricedness of 1.0.

The problem with anything like that is that when the next fanciest, coolest iPod comes out, then it might not work with the system--just like the iPhone. I don't really mind listening through the 1/8 aux jack, and I know that will work with all future generations of iPod (and any of it's competition).

Commuter car, grocery getter, and summer road tripper--average 10k miles per year.

Winter road trips and ski trips, bad weather commuter and my wife's "daily" driver--expected average 4k miles per year.

It doesn't say it is compatible withe Civic Hybrid here:

http://musiclink.honda.com/Comp_Veh2.html

Do you have information that it is?

It still looks pretty crappy and I'd rather just use my ipod controls.

If it's still not able to display track and artist info on the head unit, I will definitely pass on this. Seems like a lot of money just to be able to skip songs using the head unit rather than the iPod controls (the other "features" don't seem to be worth much more). As with most Honda accessories I doubt this will be cheap.

You should be able to use this device with your Hybrid. I have noticed that Honda consistently leave out the Hybrid with their accessories. (Splash Guards, Under Body Spoilers, Interior Illumination, Fog Lights, etc.)

And it stays true to its 1.0 roots. It is still a POS. Save your money and use the aux-in jack.

Even though Honda doesn't specifically mention the iPod Touch, I would be surprised if it was supported since it shares much of the same guts and software as the iPhone.
