Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
nice, you are just like me.
Gotta have the hybrid to make up for the premium gas guzzler.
The civic makes me feel a little better knowing that we only fill that up ever 2 weeks when the STi gets premium much more often.

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
Orient Express or anyone w/the HID conversion,
Hey just curious if you are having any radio reception issues w/your HID's on, mainly when inside a garage or so. I noticed when my HID's are on and driving, let say, through a parking garage, i noticed major static over the radio. Then when i turned off the HID's, the reception was fine. I turned it on and off a few times and the static came on and off w/the lights. Do any of you w/the HID conversion experience this?

Ballast RFI
Yes, I also noticed in the garage, that I can hear the ballast whine. This just means that there is an in-isolated ground loop somewhere on the lowbean circuit.
I fixed it by not driving in my garage with the lights on

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
Two questions:
What is the color temp of the OEM Prius HIDs, 6000k ?
Do you guys think 8000k would function/look OK, or go with 6000k ? (xenondepot kits)
Thanksss.

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
All OEM HID lights are 4500K. 8000K is a purple light, is not as bright, and does not give a good color rendition at night. I would recommend no higher than 6000K. This is a slightly blueish light, and looks like an "aged" 4500K lamp.
