Question Navigation Unit Install on Canadian Civic Hybrid

Recently a family member picked up a 2008 Civic Hybrid. There is no option to get the navigation in Canada, so we have decided to pick-up an aftermarket one and it is cheaper anyways.

I'm wondering if anybody else has installed an aftermarket one in the hybrid. I couldn't find any threads about it and I had a few questions.

Okay, so this is the equipment we're thinking of getting for it:

-Pioneer AVIC-D3 (Price: $849.99): http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...66&catid=25833
-Pioneer Bluetooth Adapter BTB200 (Price: $199.99): http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...45&catid=19835
-Steering Wheel Controls Adapter (Price: $56.00): http://cgi.ebay.ca/Retain-Steering-W...QQcmdZViewItem
-Navigation Panel Assembly (Price: $83.48): http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...DRIVER+SIDE%29

After everything it will be around $1400.00

I've heard some pretty good reviews on that model but it's too bad we have to purchase the bluetooth adapter.

Does anyone know if we would need to buy anything else and if the steering wheel controls adapter works properly?

If anybody knows where we can find those units for cheaper please post the links.

Thanks in advance!

Did you try online? I don't like Future Shop (durring the time they were in the US they seemed shadey, they never had what they advertized) I don't know about Canada but I have seen these units in Spokane (car toys I think) for $699 or 799 US & we have a pretty even exchange rate right now. You might also check with Crutchfield....they are a bit high but at least you could compare prices & they would be happy to answer your questions....you could probably send them a e mail.
I think this is what you are looking at? just don't know about CN shipment & VAT.

Be careful... if you're going to have a retail chain do your install:

I seen that on another forum I visit frequently but I will be installing it myself, so there won't be a problem. I actually found the unit and the Bluetooth on eBay for $800 after everything, so I think I'll be picking that one up.

I've decided to purchase the unit of eBay. The item will be ending this week. I don't know how long shipping will take but I will take pictures when I finish it.
