52-53 MPG is possible doing 67, but I have only been able to hold it for minutes at a time. I'll have to try for some decent FE doing 70 tonight on the way to SC.

Haven't caught any trucks doing 70mph yet on my CBus/CTown trips (OSHP really frowns on that sort of thing), but I'm quite confident I could hit 60mpg@70mph during summer if I had one to draft.

Someday I might even beat that wascally kenny!

Truck drafting and/or a very strong tailwind could give you 70 mph speeds with 50+ mpg.

That is the only way I see it as possible.

I can hold it for hours! It's called cruise control. I do switch off cruise when going up really steep hills, but for mostly level, or gentle hills, cruise does a pretty good job of keeping me around 50+ MPG in a still wind, and it's much less tiring. Into a headwind, of course, no way to keep that up.

Recently I was passed by a Greyhound bus going 72 mph up to Chicagoland, so I drafted it 3-4 car lengths back. Thanks to a tailwind, I got 66mpg over about 200 miles. The tailwind makes all the difference.
