I was prepared to use hondawarrantyinfo.com or myhondawarranty.com when I went to purchase my HCH-II a few days ago. The 8-year 120k mile $0 deductible for $920 was too tempting. The dealer was offering me a 5 yr/ 60k mile $100 deductible for $1,595 or something like that. I insisted that I'll just go without and purchase the others. After we *argued* for 20 minutes or so about whether it was Honda Care or something else, the salesman decided to pass me off to the Finance Officer. I was ready for it to hit the fan. In the end, he said he understands that I'll take the money somewhere and he'd rather it be him. So he gave me a 7 year 120k mile zero deductible Honda Care warranty (platinum coverage as they called it) for $945 and I accepted it. The 8 year wouldn't have done me good, my past 6 years driving history suggests I'll exceed 120k miles in 7 years or less.

I did not purchase the Honda Care extended warranty. The reason for this is because I felt the finance officer was trying to trick me into buying it. He neglected to mention, until I hammered him with questions, that you do not get your money back unless you NEVER use the Honda Care extended warranty.

So, if you use it once, for a fraction of the cost, you lose the rest of that money (unless you have a lot more repairs).

That was my thinking anyway.

I purchased one recently online for 900 dollars. No deductible 7 year 120,000 K. If my total repair bill above routine maintenance for the car is only 900 after 7 years I am good with that. If I sell the car before the warranty is up it should add value and some degree of comfort for the purchaser as well.

Just picked up our HCH-II this evening. It had been our intention to purchase a Honda Care extended warranty from another dealer I had located online offering the best price I had found - but, when doing the paperwork at our local deal, he agreed to match their price.

We got a 72-month/120,000mile $0-deductible for $830. The sales manager said that that was right at his cost.

We paid MSRP for the HCH-II and I really hated to pay MSRP for a vehicle ($22,700 including delivery fee for vehicle without NAV), but I was pleased the dealer did this with the warranty.

It is a bummer to pay MSRP, especially since the MSRP went up 300 on all the HCH2s produced after March 16, 2006.

also the destination went up in august from $550 to $595.

I am hoping that you guys can help or provide me with some imput in regards to these 2 companies. I intend to go with the 6 years/120,000 miles warranty just not sure who to get it from. Bernardi offer a lower price however most of you purchase from Saccucci Honda. Is there something I am missing in regard to coverage and service? Please help.

Anyone have any experience cancelling the warranty. I purchased 3 weeks ago and paid dealer price for the warranty. Just wondering if I can cancel the dealer warranty and purchase a new warranty on line.

I think you can do this. I would go back to the dealership and talk with the finance people or whomever told you all about the warranty and sold it to you. Also look in your documents for some kind of cancellation policy. I got my warranty from not where I purchased my car but from another dealer in Louisiana(mossisboss.com) and got a 6/120k(I think) and zero deductible for $825. My dealer wanted $1591!! if you need more info I would be glad to send you more about whom I contacted about the warranty. My paperwork showed up a couple weeks later from Honda.
