The INTERNET is an interesting place at times and the things that go into "Print" that the same person might or might not say in "Person." I agree with you that to {Assume} about the other person and the reason one makes the decision/decisions he/she does is (Wrong). If you are not the person and in their given situation you cannot possibly understand why they are doing and making the decision they are.

Hey do as you wish and I have in my case just tried to offer you some Hybrids to think about when you make your move to a Faster-Vehicle.

If you are not aware of it, the Honda Accord 2006 Hybrid is really Fast and on the Hwy. it offers very good FE. The reason I mention this Hybrid to you is you can Buy-Them really Cheap. This is for real I had one just offered to me at Dealer Invoice. This was a month ago.

Anyway do as you see fit and let us know what you decide for your next Purchase.

As I said in my other Post I own a HCH II 2006. It is slow !!!!!

If I changed I was going to the Honda Accord Hybrid for Price or the 2007 Camry Hybrid because it is really a nice Hybrid and it is 3-Seconds Faster to 60 MPH than the HCH II.

Good-Luck,

Terry (tiger)

I doubt it.

In 2006 I sold my 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid for $1,700 MORE than I bought it for new, even with 22,000 miles on it.

Plus you pocketed $2,100 in tax credit when you bought your HCH.
You did very very well.

Next, if you trade in the HCH instead of saving thousands by selling it yourself that's your fault, not the car's.

It is perplexing to me why you came here attempting to bash this car.

Need fewer troops to support.
Drive a hybrid.
Best tank 71.65 MPG.

Before this car I spent two years learning hypermiling on my 2004 HCH1.

Thumbs up Re: Selling my '06 HCH II for safety reasons

You know, I have a much worse situation with my RV when it comes to acceleration. I think we may know how big truck drivers have felt for years.

Consider shifting to "2." This will give you more acceleration than all RV's, big trucks, and many other vehicles on the road. Also, if they do hit us from behind, the expense is their's.

After much consideration, I have decided to sell the HCH II for safety reasons. The acceleration is just too slow to deal with the aggressive drivers in Houston. This became very apparent when an Hummer H3 out accelerated me and cut me off in order to get in the entrance ramp to the freeway (nearly causing an accident). There were numberous other occasions where merging onto 70MPH traffic became a serious issue. For me, the MPG is not worth becoming part of a Mack truck's grill.

The hybrid only has 13K miles and is only 12 months old. I will probably loose $4K but I consider this a small price to pay. Again thanks to all on the forum.

Everyone has the opportunity to make their own choices. I am just reminded of all the villages out there searching for their idiots when I encounter a courteous concious driver on the road. I've never had a bit of problem with either my 2004 HCH I or 2007 HCH II being able to hold its' own on the road. I avoid the fast lane, get good MPG and wave at all the wonderful drivers making those Sheiks and the nut case in Venezuela rich.

Yep. That's right.

Some would say that's the main reason why we did not meet our Kyoto obligations: all those GH emmissions in the tar sands of Alberta.

Cheers;

That's an interesting thread. We can have different viewpoint ( however I mainly agree with Kenny)

The HCH II is much faster than the old 4 cylinders Mercury Lynx I had 20 years ago and much less the Honda CRX my wife had. Just adapt the way you drive.

I don't have any problem with the lane merging. If I take some risk it is for my mpg average only, the car has enought power.

We live in a sick society when driving in at speed limit is an offence. The risk related to drive at an appropriate speed is to make upset an suv driver. Who care.

Yes we could all buy a V8 car with a Hybrid sticker on. What a great global warming solution.

Pierre

I would have to agree with Kenny on all of his observations on this topic. It the way a person drives and not the vehicle itself. If it didn't have proper acceleration it wouldn't be road-worthy. If you put the car in 2nd gear, you will gete plenty of acceleration!!

Should be mentioned the HCH II was a Motor Trend Car of the Year.

The acceleration would have to be at least fair to get that award.

The argument boils down to a false premise, therefore any argument for/against seems pointless. IMO.

Had it been... I suck at driving and feel unsafe, therefore I'm selling my car. Then we could argue a case for or against.
