Unhappy Spoiler fit/finish

Bought an 07 HCHII a couple of months ago. Noticed that spoiler had a 1mm gap (with trunk lid) in the center 1/2 of the span on both leading and trailing edges. Could easily flex the plastic spoiler to close the gap, but I was afraid of water/dirt and the paint chip problem posted elsewhere - and it looks nfg.

Dealer ordered me a new spoiler and installed it today. After checking the repair it looks even worse, with >1mm gap now and also the replacement spoiler has dinged edges with missing paint....

Service employee stated that "all the HCH IIs" have some gap - I disagreed and showed him the others on his lot - all with no gap/good fit. He stated that spoiler is screwed on with a 5 screw pattern across the spoiler. He apologized and is ordering a new one.

Have many of you had this issue? What if any has been the fix?

Otherwise - nothing wrong with the car - runs great!

Thanks,
Carl

I noticed the gap some time ago. It does not bother me enough to get it fixed though...
