Default Sun Shade

I can't find a sun shade tall enough to fit the HCH2's steep windshield.

Summer's coming, and I'd sure like to keep the radiation from turning my parked car into a pizza oven.

Have any of you found a sun shade that works in the new Civic?

I purchased one from my local Honda dealer that is specifically made for the Civic. Fits perfectly. Been very happy with it.

If you have a shorter one and fold down the sun visors it'll work in a pinch

Search on this site. There's a thread or two about choices several of us have made. I bought one online from Covercraft. Expensive, but good. Some Honda dealers sell either the Covercraft model or another type (that rolls up).

I picked two from Walmart. They sell these Jumbo shades that are designed for Minivans and it has coverage to spare whether it is the HCH or Prius.

Cheers;

I use the shade from my 2004 civic Si hatchback. That car also has a huge windshield, and the shade fits almost perfectly in my hchII.

Once again MSantos is spot-on. I did the same thing. The shades for my previous Honda kept slipping down due to the larger window on the Hybrid. So off to Wal-Mart I went and found the Jumbo shades. They work perfectly with the larger windshield.

It's worth mentioning to take care to shade ALL of your instrument panels. There have been cases where HCHCII owners have put their shade between the lower and upper panel. This puts excessive heat on the upper panel and can ruin it.

Hmm ... I did buy the jumbo shade and it was from Walmart. However it doesn't totally cover the windshield. If I push it all the way down to where the lower part of the windshield hits the dash ... I lose the ablility to use my visors to hold it in place.

If I do pull it up to balance it behind the visors, it leaves about 3 inches "unprotected" at the bottom. I do manage to cover both the instrument panels though.

Are there different sizes of "jumbo"??
