I guess there's an advantage to living in 'downstate' Illinois: I got my 2009 TCH last week for list price. I had to wait 2 1/2 months for the delivery but I'm convinced that it will prove to be one of my better decisions. btw, I ordered a 'stock' TCH and was told right from the start that I would probably have to settle for a few things that I didn't want simply because Toyota found that they could sell all the hybrids they could build, no matter what accessories were on it. A month before delivery I was told that my camry would have a moon roof. That's a 900 dollar price jump but I said ok. 2 weeks before delivery, my salesman gave me a copy of the build/delivery sheet that goes to dealers and the moon roof was gone (yayyy!) but I would now have to pay for alloy wheels and the interior convenience group. That's about a 2100 dollar bump. (sigh) Anyway, when the car came, I paid list price with no extra dealer charges, and that's according to all the independent sources that I could find. With IL tax it came to $30,040.00. Ironically, that's 10 grand more than I paid for my first house!
