After scouring some other forums, I was able to get one year of XM for 50%. That's $77/yr. XM offers the 50% discount on vehicles like the Scion, but will extend it to other subscribers if you're persistent.
To get the discount, you have to call their customer service line, it can't be obtained online. The pattern seems to be that only U.S customer service reps are authorized to offer the $77 rate. If you call and get an outsourced rep they will not give it to you. So just hang up and call back until you get a US rep. Tell them that your dealer promised you a $77 rate and that's it. No promo code or anything necessary.
Good luck to all.

Ok....I just got the $77/yr rate, but I had to go through the whole disconnect my service thing (despite telling them I just wanted the rate that they offering to others) and then the very, very, very last thing before they process your disco is that they do is they offer you that rate.
According to Retailmenot.com, there is a discount code you can use to get the $77 price, free activation and apparently also a 12.95 account credit if you allow them to "put a credit card on file." The code to mention on the phone is ZWIMBACK.
