In a couple of weeks most of the USA will start Daylight Savings time. This is a new start time for DST... almost a month earlier than normal.

Back in October, my HCHII with NAVI automatically adjusted my clock from DST to standard time. Will the new DST start time confuse our cars?

I'm assuming our cars get the time signal either from the GPS satellites or from the Boulder, CO broadcast time signal. To my knowledge, neither signal will tell the car about DST. Unless there's some type of update done at a dealer (or perhaps through an upgraded DVD for the NAVI), I can't imagine how the car is going to display the correct time on March 11th (the new DST start date).

Any ideas?

Hmmmmm, I will be on graveyard that night until 5:30AM (the 12th), or will it be 6:30AM....................I guess we'll have to get out the sundial, oh yeah and cut a hole for the sunroof. I wonder if the sundial will turn the passenger airbag on??????

This is what happens when congress second-guess Ben Franklin. Now instead of never worrying about all my clocks, I have to set them four times a year. The new times are s'posed to save energy. What about all the wasted time setting and resetting clocks?!?

What? It feels like we just did the fall back. The other day my computer downloaded an updated that had to do with daylight savings time, I was wondering what it was about, I forgot that it was being changed.

I'm hoping more states retaliate against this buffoonery by exempting themselves from DST. Then perhaps Congress will return it to more realistic dates (like the original late April to late October). Remember, the federal 55 mph speed limit was scrapped after more and more states defied the District of Corruption.

Can we request info from our NZ and Aussie friends on the list as it is already tomorrow over there but I don't know if they observe the same change that we do. Certainly, the East Coast folks can post Sunday morning if the GPS time is correctly changed and then the West Coast folks will know the answer when they wake up rather than getting in the car and driving at 20 mpg thinking you are late and end up an hour early. =)

My HCHII with NAVI is off by an hour - so there is a problem. My question is - I don't see a way to manually reset the time myself - is there a way to do that?
And if not - how long will it take to reset itself? Any help appreciated.
