Hi, all.

I feel I should warn you, the magnets are only about 3 inches long, and thus are probably not a replacement for the glue-on bumpersticker. Instead, they're more like something you'd stick on the refrigerator to remind you you'd rather be out driving your hybrid car.

For those who don't want to stick something to their car but are still interested in these slogans, I think the license plate frames are the way to go.

I wouldn't recommend putting them on magnets. The reason, if they are lost or damaged, you need to reapply. Once they are out of stickers, I do not see how you can get them replaced.

Next, I saw a woman driving an accord hybrid in downtown LA last week. She had someone's hybrid stickers on her car (in the wrong places).

So, beware that people are stealing them.

Speaking of which, I happen to be in the LA area right now and have noticed little yellow stickers on all Prius' I have seen. A bigger one on the rear bumper and smaller one on rear fender. Is that the sticker you are talking about? What's the story on those? They must be required or something.

The yellow stickers are a requirement by the state of California to drive solo in the carpool lane. The only vehicles that qualify are natural gas vehicles, electric vehicles (plug-ins), and hybrid vehicles that get at least 45 mpg and have low emissions: Honda Civic Hybrid 1 & 2, Honda Prius 1 & 2, and the older Honda Insights. Unfortunately no other hybrids qualify. So the woman who ripped off someone's hybrid stickers and put them on her accord could be ticketed for illegal use of the carpool lane because her vehicle does not qualify. They might also ticket her for illegal use of the stickers -- if they were stolen from another vehicle.

These folks seem to have a good selection of stickers also:

www.mpgstickers.com

Click on their "Shop our Store" link to see their whole selection.

I sort of like their slogan "Peel. Stick. Annoy."

Enjoy...
