Default 08 vue AC issue

Hey folks I have an 08 vue Green line and the ac went out yesterday.

took it to a saturn dealer and they found that one of the rubber lines behind the fans is cut. IMO it look likes the hose has rubbed on the fan shroud causing the break. Dealer is denying warranty claim.

dealer claims the car was in an accident severe enough to push the shroud into the hoses. I got the car in sep 09. Car was a GM fleet vehicle that ended up in DC area. I purchased from Saturn dealership no longer open it only had 8K miles. it now has 14K miles.

Car fax is spotless...So I will be out $600 bucks for this repair. Can anyone take look at their vue passenger side rubber AC hoses and see if you have any rubbing/chaffing on the fan shroud....

My car was in the shop 3 weeks ago for a hood replacement and Paintelss dent removal from a hail storm. No other body work that I am aware since I'vce owned the vehicle...

Now I understand the its more profitable for the dealership to charge me for the repair rather than getting reimbursed from saturn/gm.

But I'm in a huge pickle right now.. Iplan on going to a few carlots tomorrow at lunch where thier is a vue hybrid to look at take some pics, but I have no idea how I can prove that the car was not in a collission. or how they can deny a claim on circumstantial evidence.

As shade tree mechanic I can see the issue from both sides...but I'm stumped. I'm, hoping if I find others who have this problem I can put together some sort of history...that I'm not the only one...

All dealers are same dude it was not your fault at all they should have fix it free of cost as ur car is in ..
let me tell you my cousins story he buy his BMW in 2007 and during winter when it was raining like hell his car started 2 leak ...when he went to dealer he told him that it will cost him $ 800 as its his fault ...i seriously can't understand what was his fault over their and car was in 4 yrs warranty. ... then later on we came to know that lot of BMW 5series have problem with water leak ....really need to do some thing against this kinda dealers other wise its goin to get worst..

just a follow up.... I authorized the dealership fix the problem on my dime, and then I called GM customer service to find out the process for appealing a denied warranty claim. Explained the problem to them.

when I went back to pick up the saturn a few days later the service manager pulled me into the office and we spoke. He claimed he was going to "goodwill" the claim, mind you I still have one year and 20K miles left on my warranty. So I asked him if corporate called. he said yes.

So in the end I got it fixed for free. I did find 2 green line vues close by and I took pictures of the hose in question and it was up against the fan shroud as well. but its easy enough to move...

Still frustrating as i should not have to go though that kind of BS for a warranty.

on a side note my clothes drier at my house. broke. under warranty. 7 visits to fix with 2 different contractors....uhg....what a pita dealing with warranty claims..

well it took 45 days to get the car back....GM still owes me 712 bucks for rental car reimbursement. so I'm starting the claim process for filing a complaint under the VA State lemon law...
