Thanks for the info. I haven't tried high-test, but I had always wondered if it would be at all beneficial. I'm actually somewhat surprised it isn't required. Many variable cam phasing engines seem to require it. Did you happed to notice any changes in performance?
On a side note, I just finished a 1000-mile trip in my 1995 Chevrolet 4x4 full-size pickup (wife needed the VUE while I was away). Even with the A/C on, the old beast still managed 21.1 mpg. Certainly not VUE GL mileage, but not too shabby for a big ol' beast. I really think the Hybrid has taught me to be a more efficient driver in ALL our cars.
