Question 2011 DVD map update ???

Anyone update the DVD Map for 2011? I see a bunch of links for free downloads, but unsure if I should trust these:

http://www.heroturko.org/n/nissan-al...on-map-update/

I also see that we are supposed to schedule a service call to perform the update so thats $150 for the DVD for Nissan, $95+ Service Charge

I think this is something that should be able to be done in our driveways, no?

I find it outrageous that after paying a boatload for the NAV system they want to charge me/us that much for minor updates each year, so I turn to torrents. I actually just did the 2011 update yesterday. After burning the DVD, replacing the old one with the new one took me approximately 30 seconds.

You push and hold for TILT button for a few seconds and the nav screen will slide down. You then push the DVD eject button and load the new DVD. Push the TILT button again brings the nav screen back into place.

I got mine on thepiratebay and the filename is Navteq Infiniti Nissan Navigation DVD 7.6. You need a dual layer DVD (preferably a good one like Verbatim). The file is broken down into pieces and you need a program called 7-zip to unpack them. This creates an ISO and MDS file. Using burning software (I use PowerISO), you point the program to the MDS file (this contains the partitioning info). If you point it to the ISO it won't work right. Also be sure to burn it as an image and not as data. If you have a good burner and computer, you can do it on max burner speed, otherwise you should probably do it on slow speed.

Oh and I haven't noticed anything cosmetic this year. Last year's update gave us the "3D" view... or more like the angled view. This year seams just like an update to add roads. Where I live in North Jersey is already pretty developed so there won't really be many new loads. Granted I haven't used it all that much since last night.

I also got last years on thepiratebay and it worked flawlessly, so I expect this one will as well.

It would be nice if they added some intelligence to it. Like, taking into consideration your current location in search results and giving them to you in order of distance from you! My phone even does that!

Default 2007 Camry Hybrid DVD map upgrade to 10.1 maps

2007 Camry Hybrid DVD map upgrade to 10.1 maps

You will need a donor disk with the map product that you want to upgrade to.
Blank 8.5GB media to burn the new disk to, I used DVD+R DL and it works
others have used DVD-R.

Take out your existing DVD from you car,
Copy it to your computer, I have a mac, so I can drop and drag it.
When you have it on your desktop, (this may take an hour to copy).
You will need the donor disk, perhaps from Arh! Or you can borrow a friends DVD map from perhaps an Avalon, Lexus, Camry or the like.
What you are going to do, in the COVERAGE folder is replace the old files from 05ETG_01.BMP to 05VTO_12.BMP with the new files from the donor disk.
Leave USC01.BMP through USC11.BMP in the COVERAGE folder.
Burn it, it will take about an hour, reinstall, it and you are done.

This was a 07 camry hybrid, but this should work across the product range.
