Was wondering if anyone had similar issue. At about 62K engine started running rough--luckily was taking it in for routine oil change that day. Dealer called an hour later and they replaced the whole engine! Now I have 62K body and trans, with a new engine.
The idle was rough like one cylinder missing. My wife normally drives it, so there possibly could have been some symptoms she missed. I simply told her the night before that it was time for an oil change, so I gave her my car in the AM.
Did not get a thorough explanation as to the cause, just something involving cylinder #1. However I was out of town for the next two weeks. I will try to get a more thorough answer.
A rough idle like one plug was fouled-normally a very smooth quiet engine, but as soon as I started it, I knew it wasn't right. Wasn't putting out any smoke though. Got up to speed ok, but I didn't push it--probably drove 30mph verses my normal 45-50.
No-there were no warnings that I saw. I do have to add that my wife usually drives the Yukon--usually I get the statement:"Something's wrong with the car"---which translates to a range from the gas is low to she just hit a deer and caused $10K damage.
