it looks like the brake line is waaay too far from the said bolt end. either a jack or lift must have caused the damage than constant up and down of the shocks. flexible tubing is usually in place for areas like these.

Canuck

Glad no harm was made to you or your family with this failure.

Nice Vid by the way, very Explicit.

From what I can see, It is not a silverado failure. I just went under mine, and no bolt will ever touch the brake lines even on full suspension compression.

Now, we have a couple of hybrid tahoes, and one 5.3L flex fuel tahoe. They all have the same suspension, so your failure could be related to all Tahoes, not only hybrids.

From this pic I can see that bolt 1 is the one that wear out your brake line.

Tomorrow I'll go under the tahoes and will try to take some pics out of them.

We don't use them to tow, but full passenger and cargo, will have the same effect on bumpy roads.

Thanks for the heads up for all of us.

And, try not to give up on GM just for a few Arses that made to work with them ! just my 2 cents

Canuk,

I went under the 2 Tahoes, and they have the same brake line type. One is 09 and the other 10.

The brake line is bended in a way the bolt will never touch it.

For what I can see in your video, your OEM brake line is straight. No clue why. When I have some time I'll check the 2008 Flexfuel tahoe.

Here are some pics. They might look alike, but are from both Trucks.

Again, sorry, It looks like you are flying solo on this one

If I found anything else I let you know.

btw, the Brake line had a number 25906100

Canuck,

I tried to use the gopro to make a video, but I really suck at it.

Got a pic and a little vid.

You can see how the pics is like 125 degrees wide angle !
