also Problem Starting Hybrid 2008 Yukon
I bought 2008 Yukon Hybrid with 5000 miles on it, the SUV was not driven in over 8-10 weeks. I had it shipped on a trailer, the battery was dead, it was jump started, and while being loaded on the trailer it died. The 12 Volt battery is fully charged now, but it would not start. It has a message, the Hybrid system need service.
No dealer around me that is familiar with the Hybrid SUV. I had a mechanic that hooked a computer to it, and he is telling me, the 300V battery is dead, and it requires the dealership to charge it, could that be true? Has any one experience simillar issue? how do we get it started? Is it possible because of the security system when the SUV was raised to be loaded on flatbed? Any body experienced this issue, and what was the fix.
I read other threads, where most the problems were fixed by charging or replacing the 12V battery, but my battery is checking fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not able to give a full response now, but look in your manual about the "Jump Assist" mode. Basically, you put a 12V battery charger on it for a long time and it will boost the voltage through the controller and charge the 300V battery. It takes a long time....

Abo khader is the GM dealer in Jordan and they are up to date with GM hybrid. The head mechanic "Raid" found a bad transmission wiring harness in my 08 yukon is the reason it stalls. he should be able to help in the Jump assist or other issues be that as it may.

Check when your Yukon was built - You can find the date on sticker on the driver's door.
If it was built before 03/08 it could have the faulty transmission wiring harness that's causing the problems.
That was the problem with my Jan 08 Tahoe.
Your dealer can check it out by using at Tech2 diagnostic computer on the truck. It's a five minute job. Then its a matter of getting the parts from GM in the US.

Omar, thanks for contacting me and for the great help you provided me. I can truly say Abu Khader dealership provided excellent customer service, and Ra’aid is one of their bright Techs. The truck was dropped off this afternoon, within several hours, I got a call back, they got it started, but no details as what was the cause yet, the Tech “Ra’ad” said he will explain tomorrow.
Rob, I checked the manufacturing date, it was made in 1/2008. Is the serviced bulletin calling to replace the harness even though if it is not causing problem? If that the case, I would like to order the replacement parts to have it serviced before it becomes a problem, please advice.
Thanks,
KS

KS ..
I believe there is a GM service bulletin regarding the transmission wiring harness. Jet1 also has a Jan08 build Yukon, and he got a notice to have it changed by his dealer in the US.
These are the part numbers required.
Harness - p/n 29545086 (replaced p/c 29546932)
Harness - p/n 29544334
Retainer - p/n 19168276
Gasket - p/n 29544375
Filter asm. - p/n 19168277
I have more details and an exploded diagram to show you the exact parts if needed.
Drop me an e-mail if you need it.

Re: also Problem Starting Hybrid 2008 Yukon
I got the truck back yesterday, and it drives great. I am told the truck needed to have an updated battery charging system software. The new software updates will prevent the battery/s to be fully discharged. They didn’t charge me since it had a TSB on this issue.
