Default Volant intake

Could someone let me know what part number intake system was used.I called Volant on Thursday and was told they don't have a intake system that will fit a 2008 Yukon Hybrid. Also could you let me know if the system fits properly.Thank You,Alex

the 2008 tahoe/yukon fits the hybrid, you do have to modify the bottom as it doesn't quite fit into the spot. I had to cut away a small amount of metal where the bottom snorkel attaches. I do not have the snorkel attachment. otherwise it fits in quite well. I took a few pics but havent uploaded them anywhere but if you are interested I might have time tomorrow

Default ok here you go

underside of engine cover http://i48.tinypic.com/ae4arl.jpg

inside new airbox http://i45.tinypic.com/2wdoiex.jpg

stock assembly removed http://i49.tinypic.com/jf7ypd.jpg

vac line location http://i46.tinypic.com/16azh53.jpg

system installed http://i50.tinypic.com/2wnwbko.jpg

system installed side view http://i47.tinypic.com/r1ws9h.jpg

the cover comes off easily you lift it up in the front then just pull towards you, there are two clips that fit into the slots at the rear (top) of the picture.
The only variation I found is inside the new air box. The round hole in the bottom of the box DOES NOT match up to the existing hole in the car so you need to cut away some metal for it to fit in place properly.
The vac line needs to be plugged into the Volant port or you may throw a CEL.
As you can see the stock assembly is quite cumbersome as it is not designed for efficiency but rather it is designed to silence (read interfere with) the air intake to the engine.
the last two are the system installed.
You do need to find the sweet spot for acceleration as it changed for me. before it was about 3/4 throttle for hard accel, but now its about half throttle to get both the elec motors in play and the gas engine. if you floor it from a stop light you can hit the rev limiter. I think to optimize the system you would need to re-map the onboard computer but I prefer warranty to racing!
good luck

Installed Volant intake system in June.Took a 600 mile round trip I have taken two times prior without Volant and truck got 21.7 -21.9 mpg. With the Volant system truck got 21.9 mpg.Intake noise was louder and truck felt like it produced more torque at a lower rpm.I don't like the increased intake noise and the added torque isn't much.
