Rated 28 city, 38 highway, 32 combined. My wife's did great on a long trip carrying the whole family with the AC blasting it got mid 30ies at 70mph. My hybrid would not have done much better and would have struggled with the high speeds, AC and full load. Driving alone in town my HCH1 crushes the Elantra but for highway driving the wife's Hyundai is hard to beat. Plus her car is bigger, more powerful and a bit fancier as well.
