Yeah, they are in deep financial trouble and of course no new French car has been available in North America since 1991. PSA left with the Peugeot brand then; Renault left in 1987 and Citroën left in 1973.....

But even PSA's HDI diesels will defeat most hybrids in real-world fuel consumption and I sure wish they were available here.

I'll be in Europe in September, driving a Peugeot 207 CC (Coupé/Cabriolet).

Hi !

I'm not sure there are in financial trouble! because they send a lot of cars, but only small cars. They tell us they are in financial trouble but it's because they don't send their big cars. Every sellers I met (Toyota, Peugeot, Renault, etc.) told me the same : we don't sale big cars but a lot of small ones.

So they have money ! Renault try to developp with Nissan electric cars for 2010, but only available in Paris, and it concerns only 100 electric cars... (Kangoo Bebop).... Let's see what they'll do. PSA had tried electric cars in 90's...

The Volvo V60 Diesel Plug-In Hybrid is said to be production ready. Looks pretty promising. I'll believe it when I see it in the showrooms, though.

I would also prefer diesel car because only diesel can give me good fuel efficiency and diesel engines last longer, and fetch higher resale values. Diesel engine can be run on biofuel. But, the only drawback is it's too costly in USA and that vehicles usually more expensive.

Diesel hybrids are now a reality, at least in Europe. Later this year MB will begin selling the E300 Bluetec hybrid with 204hp, 56mpg & 368 lb/ft torque (!).

My Golf diesel post never came true: something about EPA NOx standards which is why the E300 won't be coming to the US either.

The Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 4 is a sporty looking car that I can see myself driving in. But what I'd really like to drive is the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 4 RCZ Diesel which is a bit cooler, visually.

Yes eco.conduite.free.fr , Peugeot and Citroën have finished developing Diesel hybrid cars but doesn’t stop using C4 coupe. C4 coupe is favorite coupe car and still I like to use.
