Haha, just thought I'd share my observation of how biased CBS is! Look at their current headlines:
Quote:
Kerry: Bush Lives In Fantasy World
Iraqi Gunmen Snatch 2 Americans
Dems Say Kerry Back On Track
CIA's Bleak Outlook On Iraq
FDA Approves Home Defibrillators
Jackson Lawyers Target Evidence
Officer: Look At Bush Service
Caught On Tape: Chez Spam
|
Haha... a bit to the left? Kind of funny how incredibly obvious it is.

to which "facts" are you referring?
And I think the original post was intended to point out that five of the bullet point headline stories, just from the headline alone, can be interpreted as "Anti-Bush" or "Pro-Kerry":
QUOTE
Kerry: Bush Lives In Fantasy World
Iraqi Gunmen Snatch 2 Americans
Dems Say Kerry Back On Track
CIA's Bleak Outlook On Iraq
Officer: Look At Bush Service

That's correct. I was referring to the variety of headlines that are anti-Bush.

Hmmm.
1) I don't know how you want to term it, but the situation in Iraq is pretty darn miserable. Basic services like water and electricity are intermittent at best, and there's always threat of gunfire. Or bombs. Unless you're living in the hermetically sealed Green Zone, which is basically like Disneyland. Don't take my word for it, read accounts of people who are actually there, outside of the Green Zone.

2) Bush's service in the Tx ANG was spotty at best, regardless of the veracity of the CBS documents. He basically left to Alabama, then never made up the remainder of his service (which he was supposed to do) when he went to Cambridge for his MBA. Yet he's variously claimed to have "served proudly" in the NG or even the Air Force.

3) About fantasy world, well, see #2 above for just one example. Or what about his frequent assertions that the world is safer place now (tell that to the Iraqis, or Indonesian bombing victims, http://slate.msn.com/id/2103989/). Then there is his disturbing need to be insulated from anybody who might just disagree with him

establishment of "Free Speech Zones" - http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?tit...ee_speech_zone).
I leave you with an excerpt from "The Daily Show":
Corddry: How does one report the facts in an unbiased way when the facts themselves are biased?
Stewart: Im sorry, Rob, did you say the facts are biased?
Corddry: Thats right Jon. From the names of our fallen soldiers to the gradual withdrawal of our allies to the growing insurgency, its become all too clear that facts in Iraq have an anti-Bush agenda.

WHEW, such ANGER from the Lefties these days !!! :o
If you are thinking Mr. Kerry might do a better job, good luck with that. Heard a clip this morning on the radio of all the positions Mr. Kerry has had on the Iraq situation and how many times he agreed with the intelligence reports and Mr. Bush until he found himself applying for the job.....
And the situation in Iraq IS bad, in many respects, and getting better in some respects. The problem continues to be the insurgents who are fighting our attempts to free them. They appear to NOT WANT TO BE FREE and NOT WANT to have a free country. Imagine for just a second the IDIOCY in that stance....imagine some more.....imagine....imagine.....
It has nothing to do with our policy, it has everything to do with the idiot Islamic fascists running the resistance. We are just trying to give them a free country, which they have not had in like FOREVER, and they are fighting us and their OWN POLICE and ARMY about it.....
Seems pretty unreasonable of them, does it not?

Yes, it seems unreasonable. But, in the past few months I have learned a bit about culture and I realize that people view the same issues in completely different ways.
Last night I was speaking to a friend from Panama and inquired about one of her classmates, whom I talked to a couple times but never recieved contact information for. She said she'd get her email address for me, and mentiond that she just got engaged. The girl is 18, a high school junior (their school year coincides with the actual year). I was completely floored and asked my friend if that was the norm, and she replied that around there most girls get married before 21 and this case is extremely common.
Now, it's hard to relate stories like this. None of you are in the exact same position I'm in. But, when I heard this it really opened my eyes.
