Default Re: An Excellent Reason to Go Back to the Moon

I was watching an NPR special one night with an interesting moon theory.

They suggested while the Earth was still a ball of hot molten goo that another large body slammed into the earth, fragmenting it into what we call the moon.
They say that it was pretty much confirmed in examining minerals from the moon.

They say the Appollo astronauts installed a large reflector on the moon surface so they can accurately determine its distance from Earth.

They say the mass/gravity of the moon strongly effects our own atmospheric climate and any change in distance will make a big difference.

They also said the reflector shows the Moon is drifting away by about an inch each year.
Even though they didn't mention global warming I wonder if their climate hypothesis leads me to belive that this would at least play a factor? (Among other things)

.

Efficient drivers do it better.
