Insurance $UCKS on my Civic.
I will NEVER buy another Civic as long as I live! I knew the ins. for the Si and Coupe was going to be stupid high. But the Sedan? God this is absurd. $530.00 every six months for a damed Civic. Its $5.00 more than the Si quote I got from my agent. She was befuddled about all this. Full coverage, $500.00 deduct, 2.5 miles comute for work. Live in a small town of 13k in Oklahoma age of drivers 45 and 49. Perfect driving records. Every bloody discount Allstate offers.
Anybody else getting corn hold like this?
Its more than our Accord for gods sake!!! Things are not looking good for this car long term at all....

My 2k1 Civic EX was $590 / 6mo. The new Hybrid is $558 / 6mo. I have a pretty hefty policy though.

Re: Insurance SUCKS on my Civic.
Wow, that does suck. I think I pay 400 per 6 months, for my 05' HCH in the DC metro area, with a 100 mile round trip commute. I'm 31 and my wife is 33, and we use USAA.

Re: Insurance SUCKS on my Civic.
I pay only 105 cnd a month, but mine is as basic as it gets for a 2004 coupe
i got around 20 km a liter when i drove a civic 5 spd using advanced hypermiler techniques
and now I drive a salvage nwh20 prius that gets almost to 25 km/l with 192,000 km to date.

Re: Insurance SUCKS on my Civic.
I used to have State Farm for my house, life for me & my wife and two auto policies.
I first moved both my HCH and Grand Caravan to Gieco and saved about $800 total/year, despite State Farms "Savings" and with better protection as well.
Dumped State Farms "Whole Life" ripoff scheme with cheap Term from another company and saved a ton of cash, and I am looking to move my Home owners as well.
Efficient drivers do it better.
1003 miles a tank personal record. 74MPG calculated. HCH1 CVT

My coverage with State Farm is 335.04 every 6 months. I have had State Farm since 1987. I have all my insurance with the same person. I am 42.

Re: Insurance SUCKS on my Civic.
I was paying $508/6months for limited coverage with high deductables with Gieco. At the time (with tickets on my record) it was the best price. Once the tickets came off Progressive was cheaper and better for full coverage with low deductables.
Quote:
Progressive:
2005 Honda
BODILY INJURY & PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY
$100,000 EACH PERSON -
$300,000 EACH ACCIDENT PROPERTY DAMAGE LIABILITY -

COMPREHENSIVE ACV LESS $100 DEDUCTIBLE
COLLISION ACV LESS $500 DEDUCTIBLE
UNINSURED MOTORIST BODILY INJURY

$300,000 EACH ACCIDENT
UM PROPERTY DAMAGE $100,000 LESS $200 DEDUCTIBLE UNDERINSURED MOTORIST
$100,000 EACH PERSON -

Re: Insurance SUCKS on my Civic.
BTW Progressive also has an awesome website that allows you to get quotes, change you policy, update/ review your perosnal info and driving record and pay online as well.
My other 2 vehicles are still with State Farm because I have guaranteed renewable polices with decent rates. State Farm is no longer offering such policies so I went with Progressive on the Civic.

We're with AAA insurance. To add my HCHII, it was $285 to the next renewal period in April. Took delivery in November. No kids, So. California.

Re: Insurance $UCKS on my Civic.
I filed a complaint with Allstate today on the rate for the Civic and Accord both. I also filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Insurance Commisnor. Allstate was rattled, so I will see what happens. Ive been with them almost 20 years and havent cost those greedy bastards one red cent.
My middle daughter was wanting to buy a new Civic this weekend. when I told her what our Ins. is costing us she almost passed out. At 22 they will screw her to death. Shes a collage student. Going to graduate this spring. Do a intership and go back for her masters. She found out her first four years of collage have basicly been a waiste of time and money. So a masters is needed. I think we are going to look into a colbalt for her. She cant afford a screwing like I can. Hell if I would have thought in my wildist dreams a Civic Sedan was going to cost more than a Accord to insure I would have never bought it.
