Default old school hubcaps

I've been thinking of getting a set of alloy wheels for my base civic coupe; but being the miserly type I'm actually considering getting a set of 'Moon Eyes' racing disc hubcaps.

Pardon the poor photoshop job:

These are used by just about every land speed racer for increased speed over open spoke wheels. I wonder if they would cause an increase in FE?

They look cool, but be carefull that you can still get cool air to the brakes.and also if you block them off completely , you will have to remove them from time to time to clean out brake dust.

I saw someone post a picture at another website of an Insight with them. I'm thinking real hard about getting a set for my Insight. Might get a set for the Civic, but I doubt it.

I doubt they would gain much FE, but they are a world easier to clean.

And of course for the Prius people, you can't forget this one.

"I'm very secure with my little Insight, no Prius envy here."
