Hi Bar10dah:

___That was close!

___Here in Illinois in the more rural areas, I think Deer are trying to commit suicide during this time of year … Rut is over, right? Maybe it’s the terrible winter weather that is depressing them Although I have not hit one with my own car yet, I was in an old F100 w/ a friend about 15 years ago (his truck and he was driving) and one of the **** things ran into the side of the truck while we were going down the road at 60 miles per hour! The cop put it down and I had venison for dinner the next evening There was a high up that actually split a deer in 2 on his bike. He was doing about 90 on the way to work in the morning when he hit it. The reason someone stopped because they saw all the blood spread all over the street with nothing but bike pieces, parts, fur, and plastic. He was found unconscious in the weeds about 50’ off the road. Still alive with a few busted ribs and a concussion is all … Guys at work are continually hitting deer this time of year as well. My direct supervisor had his Saturn taken out by a small Doe of all things just 2 days ago. Deer in Illinois can be the size of small cows but at least when you do hit them, you go through them or they go over the top. You just have to clean up the mess later. That cow would have been a little bit tougher animal to simply drive though and walk away angry afterwards …

___Good Luck

Look at the newest entries in the Share/Anything Goes for four pictures of the worst car/animal collision I have personally ever seen.....

I have an onboard bike video of a dude that sliced through a deer. I'll have to find it and post it.

I also have one with pics of a small private jet that collided with a deer on the runway.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the pics he speaks of; if I recall it was a prop twin that fully eviscerated the deer with it's right side engine/prop at full engine speed for takeoff, Indiana Jones style. In the mean time, I'll give you this alarming story:

Med-evac plane nails deer
