Worse Than a Humvee (The CXT)
This was on my recent trip to Colorado Springs. While I had quite a few inquiries about my hybrid - this was not one of them. International started to build these in Garland Texas - just before gas prices started to rise.
Amazing - it actuall fits on one parking space.

Re: Worse Than a Humvee
Those things are disturbing indeed.
Would make a nice EV though, plenty of carrying capacity and space for batteries and the torque of an electric motor is especially suitable for heavy vehicles. For cross-country tours you could tow a trailer full of batteries with a solar array.

I should have thought before posting that picture - Is it porn? Will Jason have to remove it?
While it's illegal to drive a tank, this comes close.

Re: Worse Than a Humvee
Look on the bright side.. at least you can run it on biodiesel. The most amusing writeup of this thing however was from Jay Leno. I can't seem to find it right now, but it was hillarious.

Re: Worse Than a Humvee
Speaking of how people abuse vehicle sizes by buying SUVs that are really too large for their needs:
Anti-SUV vigilantes deflating SUV tires at night - classic !!!

Quote:
PARIS -- A band of eco-vigilantes is taking a firm but gentle stand against fast-growing SUV sales in France and Europe, deflating the tires on gas guzzlers in a protest against conspicuous waste.
Members of a group called Les Dégonflés say they recently let the air out of tires on about half a dozen SUVs parked in the upscale VI arrondissement using bicycle pumps -- a technique that they say causes no lasting damage -- and plastered windshields with leaflets proclaiming that "nearly everyone needs an oxygen mask." A spokesman for the group said they hope to recruit new foot soldiers to the cause by demonstrating their technique in an internet broadcast next month.
