Maybe with newer Litium ion batteries mine will last that long too.
I also replace the blades but have had previous razors eventually not be able to hold any charge.

One trick I learned is to only charge the razor for a day, every week or two. Keeping it on the charger 24x7 seems to age the batteries quickly.
