Wink Is 4000 RPM Software or Hardware (for the ICE to kick in)?

In other words, is it a mechanical restriction due to the "geartrain" or a software restriction?

What restriction, I have no restriction at 4000 rpm. It's not a good place to drive if you are looking to save on fuel.

Bill, the FEH will not go over 100mph because for some reason the RPM's stop at 4,000RPM's every time I try.

Have not tried going 100mph Gary, But I have been over 4000 rpm when I was passing on a 2 lane road. The tach redlines at 6000 so the block at 4000 @ 100mph must be software then? Original post wasn't clear. If it had been true then I would have probably been in trouble on that pass. I was actually very suprised when I punched the gas and it took off so quickly. Definately not a mouse of an engine

I believe I read vehicle speed is limited to 102 mph.

I meant, why does the ICE kick in at 4000 RPM, even on a level road?
I'm not looking for 100+ speeds, (well that's not he reason for the question).

Bill, just kidding about the 100mph thing. Big G would never push the FEH the limit of 100mph it has. Steve did not explain what he was talking about so I thought I'd throw that in there to see if that may be what he's asking. I have no idea either what he was referring to but if the FEH is drive my wire, the only answer could be software to his question. Not sure of the RPM of the electric motor, but I think it was 4,000RPM's, and if thats his question, it could be mechical.

OT, Bill used Photo Shop to brighten this sig page photo of my MTE, my son from MIT placed it there for me but Bill was smart enough to fix it. Thank you Bill!

Ok Steve, the ICE kicks in at 0 RPM's, your foot pedal angle is such that it climbs to 4,000 RPM's. Easy on the pedal there man.

Obiviously I phrased the topic improperly.

What I'm wondering is why the ICE insists on kicking in whenever the RPM hits 4000.

Again Steve, there is no RPM in EV what so ever. If you are seeing RPM's in EV, something is wrong or your not in EV. My advise is to read your questions in the morning and think about them. Not a good FB game was it?
