The CD-based NAV system is too old of a design to support Bluetooth (Ford's MobileEase), Satellite (SIRIUS), or Ipod (Ford's TripTunes) features, even as a dealer installed option. There is really no reason why the LCD display could not, selectively, display these other sources of info. As a side, I really wish that the Premium Pkg allowed one to "downgrade" to the Audiophile system which DOES support all these things.
As I understand it, TripTunes is nothing more than an in-line FM modulator much like the adapters sold for Sirus/XM radio. I've got an aftermarket adapter for my Sirius radio installed. It plugs in between the vehicle's antenna and the radio. You connect your Ipod to it and it transmits the audio via FM (like the transpod or other modulators). The only difference is that instead of being subject to interference from FM stations or other users nearby, it actively shuts off the antenna and only receives signals from the Ipod. It still requires you to tune to a specific FM station and the quality is FAR from a direct connection or PIE connection using the CD changer interface.

Ford's MobileEase or any other Bluetooth adapter should work with the Nav radio. In fact, mpkill had the Visteon's (the maker of the Nav radio) rebranded handsfree kit installed. It is the same as the Parrot CK3100 kit. It connects to the factory system, mutes the radio on incoming/outgoing calls and utilizes the factory speakers.

Sirius is a seperate issue, which despite all of Ford's advertising, is NOT compatible with the radio (nor is the advertised MP3 capability of the radio).

OK. I thought it was Ford's name for the direct input "jack" found on several 2007 models like the Mustang (but not the FE and MM).

Hmmm, I think I upgraded choosing the Audiophile system over the Navigation system. I thought it was old and clunky and not to mention way overpriced.
