The camera option might be overkill but I've decided to go for it at some point in the future since I've already placed an order on the Garmin 7500 7" widescreen GPS unit which has an extra video input for a backup camera.

Has anyone on here successfully installed a backup camera model that fits the FEH nicely in terms of size, design and system compatibility?

check out the modifications forum at www.escape-central.com. I know at least one member installed a new headunit with a "lipstick" backup camera. I'll see if I can find the thread...

Boy oh boy.... How in the world did we all drive before the age of microelectronics?

And when did it become legal ( or safe ) to have a DVD player visible to the driver?

I think they should mount one in the top of the dash pointing up so it reflects off the inside of the window.... Your WHOLE WINDSHELD could be a DVD screen for your kids.

I can see the result now, "Thats funny.... why does Milo have two giant red glowing lights in his forehead..."

Nah, I rather have a floating screen like the ones featured in Steven Spielberg's 'Minority Report' projected in between the frontseats and backseats, so that I can have the whole windshield to myself while the kids watch their own shows in the back

Anyhow, I'm not planing to install a DVD player in my FEH.

Just saw a commercial for this... don't know who the manufacturer is, and not sure where you could get it in the US.

Here is the link to the product information (hopefully it works, it forced me to put in a 'fake' postal code (I hate when they want to know where I live)).

Rear view camera (I've posted the larger image below).

The commercial and the image show that the actual camera attaches to the bottom of your rear plate. It also claimed that the screen can be mounted pretty much anywhere, it showed the dash and the back of the visor.

Even though the image looks like the camera is wired to the screen, it is wireless transmission from the camera to the lcd. The wires shown in the image are power for both the camera and the lcd.

Here's the image:

This is the VR3 Wireless Backup Camera. I saw it in Costco yesterday. The price is $90. Found one review on Amazon and it isn't that great.
